By plane

In Poland, Gdańsk has direct air connections only with Warsaw. Airport (the. Słowacki 200, tel.3481111) is located in the Rebiechowo district, on the outskirts of Gdańsk, already behind the beltway. It consists of several storey modern pavilions with a cozy passenger terminal and an elegant VIP bungalow. From the airport, you can get to the center by express bus #B, driving from Gdańsk, or by bus #110 from Wrzeszcz. There are also taxis waiting for passengers: Access to distant from 8 km the center takes up (depending on the traffic on the road) from 10 minutes to… hours (However, it is most likely to order a taxi by phone - the associated taxi drivers are more reliable, and the prices they propose lower.

Jagiellonian Embankments 2/4 in a modern, angular, dark honey-colored building (open Mon-Fri. 8.00-18.00, w sb. 9.00-15.00) – less than 5 minutes from the Main Railway Station towards the south, near the Torture Chamber. There, you can book and purchase tickets for all domestic and international lines operated by LOT (information and reservation: tel. 3102821 or 952 i 953). In Gdynia, the LOT office is located at ul. Tickets of all airlines are also sold by INT Express; Gdańsk office at ul. Grunwaldzka 87/91 is open 24 hours a day, tel.3416220, 3460317: branch in Gdynia at ul. Water communication


Gdansk ferry base, from which you can sail to Nynashamn, is located in Nowy Port at ul. Industrial 1. The ferry lines are operated by Polska Żegluga Bałtycka, tel.3431887, booking tickets, phone: 3436978.

Gdynia-Karlskrona lines (Sweden) operated by Stena Line, ferries depart from the Gdynia ferry base at ul. Kwiatkowski 60.

By train

The Tri-City has rail connections with most Polish cities. In addition to passenger and fast trains, expressways arrive and depart from here- Intercity, in which the total seat reservation is valid (connections with Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Cognition, By boat, Szczecin). Moreover, the Tri-City has a connection with Budapest, Prague, Berlin. People who come to Gdańsk Główny should remember, so as not to be too much when getting off, because for most long-distance trains the destination station is Gdynia.

Main Railway Station in Gdańsk

The station is located at Podwale Grodzkie Street. The front of the building faces east, where the Old Town and the Main Town are located, which is the most attractive part of Gdańsk in terms of tourism. North of the station there is a communication artery running through Wrzeszcz, Oil, Sopot and Gdynia. Heading south, you can reach the old quarters of the city, such as Old Scots and Orunia, while in the west there are modern districts and housing estates (Suchanino, Piecki, Morena in).

The Gdańsk railway station was completely renovated several years ago: you can now use a modern and completely non-stationary one” in the atmosphere of the part occupied by shops and service establishments. In a multi-level interior, resembling the French Pompidou Center, found a place, in addition to the luggage storage located on the ground floor, information and toilets, stands with good quality goods: with a variety of clothing (from underwear to leather), with magazines and books, with sweets and gifts. There you can also buy guides and maps and play slot machines in the lounge. The real highlight is the glass elevator. Some discomfort is caused by people who are stationed at the station, especially at night, homeless.

The current train timetable is posted in the main hall of the station, there are also cash desks for long-distance trains. SKM ticket offices are located in the underground passage under ul. Podwale Grodzkie.

By bus

The Tri-City has bus connections with larger cities of Northern Poland and towns of the Gdańsk Province. Private travel agencies also organize trips to Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Częstochowa and some French cities, Italy and the Balkans.
